Exclusive Interview with Edwrds
Welcome, Edwrds! It’s great to have you here! Share with us more on your music journey – how did you know music was something you wanted to pursue?
Thank you for having me.
As a child I always loved music. I was a competitive dancer so music was always around me. Like dancing, singing came naturally to me but I didn’t think I could or have wanted to pursue music as a career until I found my passion for free-styling and hip hop. I spent most of my time after school making beats and trying to record hit songs from my bedroom. The feeling of being in the studio making something authentic never has left me thankfully.
Do you write your own music? What is that process like for you?
I do! The process is constantly growing with more knowledge and practices over time. I try to treat every song as it’s own story. Different stories need different methods, if that makes sense.
When you do write new music – do you write the lyrics first or do you hear music and then write to that?
It really depends on the song. Some I’ll produce and then write, others I‘ll write while producing.
What inspires your music?
I would say that currently details in life, my wide variety of emotions, and space inspire me the most.
I know this may be an impossible question BUT if you had to pick – what has been your favorite song so far this year and why?
I’ve been listening to “Acension” by Mac Miller endlessly. Mac’s “GO:OD AM” album is one of my favorite bodies of work. Listen to the lyrics and you’ll know why it’s a favorite.
Where can people listen to your music and connect with you on social media?
