Cassandra’s “I Love Christmas” single
Cassandra’s “I Love Christmas” single is out, and you don’t want to miss this amazing song because it restores faith in all that’s lost about music and the holiday’s charms. The Ontario artist falls somewhere between country and jazz when it comes to her voice and styles of music, but “I Love Christmas” leans more toward the jazz side of what she does, with a pop touch. This isn’t a cheesy holiday track that most people would shy away from, not that there’s something wrong with that but this is a seriously well written, arranged and recorded track. In fact, I wouldn’t normally be interested in just any song like this, so I was immediately relieved when I heard it and that’s saying the least.
She is currently pursuing a songwriting and recording career advised by songwriter and artist developer Kris Bergsnes (Tim McGraw, Wynonna Judd, Justin Moore, Tyler Farr, Randy Travi). She has written over 120 songs with acclaimed writers such as Kalsey Kulyk, James Slater (Grammy nominated, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Enrique Iglesia) and Andy Gibson (Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson). She has had songs cut by Arielle, Sydney Maxine, and Noah Barlass. (for more information see her website)
You know how these things can go, and it’s safe to say this would impress anyone, it’s that good. If you’re feeling down during the holidays, this song will lift you up. It’s a marvelous track with great lyrics, horns and orchestration, and most of all Cassandra’s huge voice. She sings with the best of them, and that always helps, but the music on this track is also second to none. She sings about Christmas and what there is to love about it, starting with “put the needle on the record” and going from there with some truly fine words.
You don’t have to be a musical expert or critic to agree this is fantastic, all you have-to be is human to know that it should be heard. It’s almost like something you’ve heard before, because it has that classic arrangement with a bouncy flow that makes it a contemporary gem of a song. It’s all about romance and the romantic aspects of Christmas, things like putting mistletoe up around those-house and telling people you love them as well as you love Christmas. That’s how it’s told, so anyone can relate it to their own environment around this time of year.
Once you hear this song you’ll want to hear more of Casandra’s voice, and that is something of a gift, so it’s a generous off and it all goes to charity and that just wins this whole release. I can hear this on any smooth jazz, pop or even country radio stations Christmas playlists. I’d not only request it I recommend it. You don’t hear this every day, whether it’s the end of the year and the right time for it or not. There’s something special her and it’s Cassandra as well as her great new release.
