There has been an increase of Latin artists in the USA the last few years, we have seen people like Cuco and Omar Apollo rise through the indie ranks and sign with worldwide known labels and booking agencies. As Latinos ourselves we take pride in the movement and that’s why we are thrilled every time we discover good Latin music. El Mañana is the project of Colombian born Danny Murcia with his trio he makes bilingual rock music meant to stir both the carnal and the sentimental in all of us.
Murcia has an immense love for literature, he studied English in college, which he was able to combine with his other passion, music. It didn’t take long for a label to snatch him up, he became a songwriter and collaborated with several mainstream artists, which he doesn’t want to mention. Eventually he realized that he didn’t enjoy writing Pop songs and decided to follow his gut and write Rock songs, this lead to a separation with the label.
While writing the songs for El Mañana Murcia faced a bigger battle that many lose their life to, he was battling cancer, consistently undergoing surgery until it finally went into remission. Murcia is happy that he can finally start to release the songs that helped him keep a positive attitude.
“This music’s been the flashlight through darkness for me so super excited to finally let it out into the world” – Danny Murcia
