It’s been almost two years since we last heard of Psychic Love, last time Laura Peters was a guest in our radio show in 2016 and her music was (and still is) out of this world. We are glad that she is back with her silky voice and grunge guitars to soothe us. Her latest single “Go Away Green” was inspired by Disney Parks, if you have ever been to Disney you probably didn’t noticed that electrical boxes, fire hydrants, service doors, and other things that take away from their aesthetic are painted in a shade of green that is grass-color. Peters was fascinated by the fact and made this song for people that hide their true identities to others by covering it with a layer of “Go Away Green.”
“This is a song about the things and people hiding in plain sight. I often feel like I’m looking out from inside a body – a body, a face, a look, that is telling the world one thing, but inside I’m just you and you are me.” Laura Peters
But Laura isn’t just a front woman. In 2015, Peters started the underground venue Vega’s Meat Market out of a converted Echo Park storefront (it was once a butcher shop), and co-founded Play Like A Girl, a music collective that presents a monthly, all ages showcase at The Echo, featuring female and female identifying acts.
We are beyond thrilled to listen to what’s next from Psychic Love, for now keep tabs on her by following her on Instagram and Facebook.
