Interview with Water Tower
We are stoked to have you today. Tell us about your fall season so far! What are you up to?
So stoked to be here! So far our fall season has been exciting. We have been making music non-stop. Living the #watertowerlife is such a blessing and a privilege. I have a team of rad friends who enjoy making music and spreading healing to the world. Currently the boys are out on the road in Santa Monica today playing music for the people. I stayed home to catch up on the “business” side of things, such as emails, interviews, blogs, and mail outs! But we are going on a band camp out tomorrow, up north by Cachuma Lake.
Favorite part of the studio process?
I love actually being in the studio and writing new parts when the “pressure” is on. I think that our best music comes out when we are out of our comfort zone ever so slightly.
Performing new material vs old?
Old material is fun because the fans get to sing it with us! New material is fun because we get to surprise people : )
Biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome as a songwriter?
The biggest challenge I have had to face is addiction. It is something that runs rampant in the music industry, and it can be accepted as a “normal” part of the life unless we refuse to accept it. I have studied and fought hard to stay alive and I am so grateful to be here today to share my story with y’all.
How does social media enhance your career?
Social Media is a total game-changer for the music industry. Now we can do things that only labels could do in the past. We have the ability to segment our customers into different groups so that we can interact with them in the deepest of ways. We also have the ability to make collaborations happen with ease. These days we don’t need to get a hold of someone’s manager and pitch them an idea, we can just post on their wall or send a DM to ask!
Which platforms are you most active on and how do our readers stay connected with you? Thank you!
We are very active on facebook, IG, and TikTok. We also go live on our FB a TON, so be sure and drop your name in the comments, with your area code so we can shout you out! One of our favorite things to do while going live is to meet new friends and find out what their area code is.
