Holly molly, dear me, how on earth has this not yet been in my life? Itchy-O has to be the funnest and most original thing to come our way in quite some time! It’s like a Brazilian carnival parade met an American university marching band, had a kid, and that kid that grew up in the same world as the Mad Max: Fury Road is held in. The track is a dark, super upbeat street dance music from a carnival in hell. I am in love. These guys carry everything on their backs apparently, including amplifiers for the electronic instruments.
Itchy-O is a throbbing 50-piece band of masked chaos. Their show takes down the barrier between performers and audience, accentuating the bedlam already there. Itchy-O is a Denver-based percussion-centered electronic performance band. They brings a sophisticatedly savage sound and the sheer ecstasy of instruments untethered and running free. Asside from a huge drum cops, the band features an arsenal of electronics including synthesizers, theremin, vocoders, and many other special devices. Electric guitars and bass are also present in the organized cacophony.
With all that being said, the videos of this supergroup (megagroup? ultragroup? we need a better term for a 50 person band) are immensely entertaining.
