When I listened to Marilyn Manson’s new album The Pale Emperor for the first time, “The Mephistopheles Of Los Angeles” was the song that impacted me the most. Not only because of the dark religious lyrics that are a signature mark of the album, but also because of the dramatism, the darkness and the anger present in the melodies and guitars.
Today, one of the last rock stars alive, released a video for “The Mephistopheles Of Los Angeles”, directed by Francesco Carrozzini (Sia, A$AP Rocky, Beyonce) featuring Michael K. Williams (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire). The video shows a story of an urban preacher doing his thing in a parking lot. Demons, outsiders and beauty are perfectly combined in this audiovisual work that for moments makes me think of Nick Cave – “Where the wild Roses Grow” video. Experience the video with your own eyes.

Where the wild Roses Grow”.
