Classic new-wave melodies, dancefloor gothic beats and melancholic rock sounds are combined in Astari Nite’s new EP Dreams of Majesty, released today on Cleopatra Records (U.S.) and Danse Macabre Records (Europe).
The EP opens with “Lovesick,” a very energetic track that features old school guitars, a sharp bass, fast drums, and modern synths. “The Girl Who Tried,” that was the second single of the release, is an instant flashback in time to the late 80’s, early 90’s dark and goth clubs of London and New York. A mysterious synth sets the atmosphere for the third track, “Divination,” a new-wave balad with deep vocals and post-punk guitars. And last but not least is “The Witching Hour,” a song reminiscent of The Cure’s Disintegration years but with a modern twist.
“Writing Dreams of Majesty brought clarity to my everyday thoughts that have been peculiar and drifting at the speed of light for what seems so long. This EP allowed me to come to peace with myself as a person as I finally understand why I am this way. Remembering yesterday is something that no longer frightens me.” -M.G.
