“Ominous” combines the best of many worlds: terror movies, gothic rock and synth wave. This song by Elz and The Cult, kicks off with a mysterious voice emulating a robot in the distance and vintage horror movie synths, that could well have been included in the soundtrack of “Dark Shadows”. The melody gradually evolves into a dark wave track that could make many bodies dance in a gothic party.
This version of “Ominous” is a rework of a demo that the band originally composed in 2014. The musicians decided to remix and remaster the old version and to make it available for free download on their Soundcloud for their fans and dark wave enthusiasts.
