Starting off all dreamy and quite a bit trippy, “True Blue” is a journey turned into song. It fills out and transforms into a rather captivating melody and, rather annoyingly, can also stick in your head for a day or two. Be warned.
“True Blue” is about exploring the idea of what it is to be a wife. It’s part love, part the frustration of killing a certain magic. It’s ultimately a love song, but like all of Jane Machine‘s music, is tinged with a touch of sadness.
Jane Machine is the brainchild of Erica von Trapp, and she works with her partner Jules de Gasperis, who is the drummer and co-producer of Jane Machine. Jane Machine is recorded, produced, and mixed out of their studio in Northeast Los Angeles. The result is an electro-pop that borders on trip-hop, and rests just on the edge of dancable and introspective.
Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself!
