“Water” is Zosia‘s new single. The song is about “finding balance and not fucking up the planet while you’re at it.” The singer/producer is a dark-pop lyricist inspired by the philosophies of Isaac Asimov and Pythagoras.
Zosia (born Anneke Lada) began writing at the age of nine. As she matured into her own during her teens and early twenties, she began honing in her own philosophy, one that reflected her growing need to create a sense of meaning.
As we stated in the title of this article, Zosia is the spirit of her grandmother, a seamstress who fled Poland during World War II for a better life. “I always admired her strength and unshakable faith,” Zosia says of her namesake. “She had a calm certainty about the world which I envied.”
With a diverse set of influences, today the singer creates alternative electro-pop with elements of trip hop and alternative R&B. Using her strong vocals and cinematic synths, she has built a world of her own filled with strength and knowing. With lyrics focusing on overcoming depression, anxiety, and finding fulfillment, the songwriter explores solutions in her intricately introspective music.
