If you are not familiar with the Greek underground electronic scene, this is your chance to start getting your feet wet. Created by producer Steve Bugle, Novamachine‘s sound combines elements of 80’s new wave, post-punk, disco and pop. The mysterious “Bleed for Me” is the second release from Bugle’s electronic act, on Greece’s ‘Red Smoki’ label.
When asked about the local electronic scene in Athens, Steve shared: “Although there is a very active electronic scene in my country, not many people know about it. It is mostly an underground thing and as a result many talented musicians don’t get a chance to be heard. That’s why I created Novamachine six months ago (through my own Red Smoki label – a label that focuses primarily on Greek artists).”
While his first single was influenced by 80s new wave and featured was Berlin-based musician Alex Anter, “Bleed For Me” is more disco-oriented. “I am very interested in bringing together sounds from different genres like nu-disco, deep house , electro pop and I love groups that can achieve this (eg The Juan MacLean) and that’s what influenced me when making it,” says Bugle.
According to the musician, there are plans for a couple of singles and remixes in the near future and for an album in 2018. We hope to share more Novamachine’s songs very soon!
