Coaxed out of her strictly ‘behind the scenes’ domain after her expert taste (cultivated by her musical family, and years as a sound engineer) lead to producing, remixing, and djing, by the insistence of fellow artists, Phaxas, also known as Denise Faxus released her debut solo album Pattern’s in Flux yesterday.
With influences from post-techno, house, and bass music, the artist has carved out a distinct space for her solo work to reside. The artist delivers a rich soundscape of textural and complex electronica. The artist displaces what we expect from Miami dance music, leaving in its place what we need.
The release will be celebrated at Gramps, March 1st with a free show, featuring performances from Gina Martins and Vivian Valdes, and Haute Tension.
The album comes after a year of honing and processing her work through meticulous bedroom producing and performing live shows. The Miami native will be making her work available on all major digital platforms later this month.
The first video for the album was revealed in anticipation for the full release and acts as a perfect visual counterpart for the abstract, rhythmically-enthralling electronic experience her music delivers. See Below.
