Purcha$e’s latest track is chock full of groovy synth bass lines and solid drum machine beats, creating a very catchy and headbanging lower end. Which, unsurprisingly, work perfectly with the psychedelic and futuristic melodies that float over this foundation. If there were to be anything negative said about this track, it would be it’s length. Clocking in at 2 minutes and 40 seconds, it really is a tad too short. It ended when I was seriously grooving to it ##@$@$&%&#!!! But then again, this might cause a lot of DJs and other producers to want to mis it into other stuff, so it might work out after all. Purcha$e is an Iowa City-based self taught electronic musician, whose music draws from influences such as Human After All era Daft Punk and Smashing Pumpkins, with a dash of pop.
“The song Starfighter was written at a time when I was especially frustrated with my releases. While I enjoy them very much, there wasn’t any space for a real off the wall rock-ish banger on them. When composing Starfighter I went for that feel immediately” – Purcha$e
Well, I think he did dam good on this track, and a banger it is! Hear it for yourself!
