Miami’s beloved folk duo Dracula will be performing live at North Miami’s legendary “listening venue” the Luna Star Cafe with a special opening set by THE IMBECILE (aka Dennis Fuller of Donzii). The duo is fresh off the release of their highly anticipated LP Dorys & Eli, which landed them a top spot in NPR’s New Latin Music Favorites. Check them out at Luna Star at 8 pm, house rules ask that guests must spend $13 on food or drink, and the venue is cash only.

Presented by Heros Live Entertainment, British EBM legends Nitzer Ebb will be at The Ground on Friday, flooding the venue with the powerful industrial sounds that bought them to fame in 1982. Support comes from German techno duo Liebknecht, the musical collaboration of Daniel Myer (Haujobb) & Rinaldo Bite, who explore the space between old school electro and club culture. Miami local Sister System aka DJ Alexis Sosa-Toro will be holding it down, bringing her Miami techno vibes spinning a mix of EBM/Industrial classics and current electronic sounds. For a night of contemporary Jazz, head to WDNA this Saturday to catch trio Tiger Milk. With Derek Fairholm on electric piano, Dion Kerr on electric bass and Arturo Garcia on percussion/electronics, Tigers Milk will be presenting their fresh sound take on jazz and improvisational music. Their mix of original compositions with the avant-garde merges to bring a versatile and dynamic blend of tightly written arrangements, folk rhythms, minimalism, and electronic manipulation, all rooted in spontaneous improvisation. For a showcase of some of the best music South Florida has to offer, head to downtown’s 777 International Mall for a free – all-ages show. The repurposed shopping center, now a hub for Miami creatives has a number of bands you must check out on the lineup, including the recently formed INSILIO (heavy sludge-noise duo with members from Zeta & Las Nubes), No Wave outfit Sans Pisces, Noise-pop quartet A Fucking Bug, among others. If the music isn’t enough to convince you, PBR will be finishing out their monthly pub crawl here, providing beer for the night. Doors open at 8 pm, see you there!

Head to the Pérez Art Museum Miami for your memorial day, as the museum celebrates its participation in Blue Star Museums with a family-friendly Memorial Day celebration. Known for their immersive and high energy live performance, and tropical pop sound, Salt Cathedral will be heading up 1306 next Thursday. Fresh off their latest release “Go And Get It” featuring Big Freedia and Jarina De Marco, this show is set to be one for the books.
