Thursday, August 16th – Dark No Wave @ Churchill’s
Bringing to you the small, specific and defiant genre of No Wave, and making it even darker, tonight at Churchill’s, dive into some melancholic sounds for the Dark No Wave event. Masterminded by Rat Bastard, the night, which begins at 10pm and ends at 3am will host DJ Flor Frances and DJ Mariana Dias with a live performance by Sony Mao. Thursday, August 16 – Tara’s Birthday Bash & Rock n’ Roll Romp @ Las Rosas
Head out to Las Rosas tonight for a very special occasion! Tara: Icon and bartender at our favorite red lit and reasonably priced venue and watering-hole, is celebrating a sun lap. In honor of this day, a lineup of great live music and killer tunes has been put together for a true party. The line up includes live sets from Lone Wolf, Sewerside Bombers, Sandratz and The Gazms, with tunes from DJ Mikey R(Technique Records), DJ Russell The Love Muscle and DJ John Vale. The event will be starting at 9pm and is free, however gifts are expected, and to be laid in reverence at her feet.
Friday, August 17 – Haute Tension and Dj Woozles: An All Night Roller Skate Party @ SuperWheels
Haute Tension, who, until the end of this month – and the end of their 31 day micro tour – has definitely earned the title of ‘busiest band’, is at it again with a show and all night party at SuperWheels this Friday. Starting at 7:30 pm and ending at 7:30am, make your inner pre-teen dreams come true and head to an all night the skate and music extravaganza. the event includes DJ sets by Dj Woozles, live music by psychedelic surf noir Haute Tension, AND a special dance group performance by Sunshine’s Dance Dynasty. Admission is $20 and includes skate rental, but feel free to bring your own (which, like the owners of specialist bowling balls I am simultaneously in awe, and suspicious of).
Saturday, August 18 – August Third Saturdays @ 777 Mall
