Friday, June 1st – Emily Sheila Band @The Fillmore
After winning Concrete Beach Brewery’s first ever Rock The Beach: Battle of the Bands, Emily Sheila will be claiming her crown and stage at the new Tito’s Stardust VIP lounge at The Fillmore this friday. The Miami native’s musical evolution is one to behold: having done the rounds of all Miami’s principle music venues since she was 13, she won Artist of the Generation in 2015. Her silky voice enchants while her lyrics pierce your soul: this dreamy folk artist has proved to be one to watch. The event is open to the public, but is 21+. Check her out!
Friday, June 1st – Live at the Lido: Chad Valley with Millionyoung DJ Set @ The Standard
Also on Friday, the latest ‘Live at the Lido’ event at The Standard, Miami will be featuring UK electro-pop musician, Chad Valley, with special sets by local dj Millionyoung. Valley is currently on tour in support of his latest album Imaginary Music, so if you’re a fan of like-sounding XX or Washed Out, hit the blissed out scape of The Standard and chill to these artists infectious beats. Saturday, June 2nd – Sister System/Brother Teresa/Richie Hell @ Floyd
Floyd is set to be hosting (DJ) Sister System’s much anticipated debut at the the venue, alongside the likes of Brother Teresa and Richie Hell. Each artist involved is known for their unique and dynamic soundscapes, so head to Floyd on Saturday to let the pulse of Sister System’s (and co’s) sets take over – and dance off your week. The event will kick off at 10pm, and will continue into the early hours. Saturday, June 2nd – Respectables 31 Year Anniversary with Peter Hook & The Light @ Respectable Street
Celebrating their 31st Year, Respectable Street will be hosting a free block party with headliner Peter Hook & The Light performing the best of New Order and Joy Division. With upwards of five stages, the venerable club has a huge line-up including post-punk outfit Astari Nite, who are themselves getting ready to release their latest album ‘midnight conversations’ in July. Starting at 8pm, the event is brimming with great local and touring bands, and as a free and all ages event, everyone and anyone can get their fill!
Sunday, June 3rd – *First edition of* Metal Sundaes @ Technique Records
Heaven has descended to earth with the marriage of ice-cream and metal. Cream Parlor and Technique Records have collaborated to give us a truly blessed sensory experience on Sunday from 2:00-5:00PM, with the debut of their new ‘Metal Sundaes’ event. While y’all enjoy delicious and themed ice-cream sundaes, Caveman Cult will be spinning some classic first wave, thrash & all things metal. Sunday, June 3rd – Rosa Negra presents: ‘The Mum Tattooed’ @ Bousa Brewing
Also on Sunday, Rosa Negra Tattoo is gathering artists for a Wood canvas art exposition at Bousa Brewing! Intending to both bring together and celebrate the tattoo artist community, the collaborative event also hopes to introduce the art form to those who may not be familiar with it. By transposing the work and styles of these artists to a different medium, they hope to highlight the true artistry and creativity involved in tattooing. The event is open to the public and will run from 1pm-3pm. Along with the live painting there will be DJs, live music, craft beer, delicious food, and games, so do not miss out!
Sunday, June 3rd – Obituary/Pallbearer/Skeletonwitch/Dust Bolt @ The Ground
Last but definitely not least, Floridian death metal forerunners Obituary will be headlining at The Ground alongside doom favorites Pallbearer, and the always hard hitting Skeletonwitch and Dust Bolt. The show will be their last North American stop before heading over to Europe to continue their tour. The influential band returns to us with their latest, acclaimed and appropriately self-titled 10th studio album, so do not miss out on what is sure to be a solid show from some Floridian legends.
