With III Points around the corner, here at Too Much Love (TML) we want to share a few of the acts we’re really looking forward to, both touring and local acts. Festivals like III Points are always a lot of fun, with a lot to do. So much, in fact that sometimes there’s enough to get lost in, too much that you want to see going on at the same time. Well, to throw in our grain of sand, here’s our recommendation for the weekend. We’ll see you during these 5 acts!
1- LCD Soundsytem
One of the big acts of the weekend, and one that everyone is justifiably excited about is LCD Soundsystem. Why? Well, one of the many reasons is that they broke up some time ago and only recently got back together, creating a lot of buzz now that they are performing again. Oh, and the music is awesome! (Friday, Mind Melt, 11:15pm)
2- Thee Oh Sees
Thee Oh Sees will be the closing act for the Sector 3 stage (the busiest stage of the weekend, by the looks of the schedule) on Saturday. Their blend of indie and psych rock is sure to melt the minds of anyone wise enough to check them out. (Saturday, Sector 3, 1am)
3- Mr. Brown
Mr. Brown is a vinyl veteran that will make you bounce. Having played all over Miami and having had residency at uncountable locations, it is hard for a local not to have caught one of Mr. brown’s sets at some point. All vinyl, funky disco/dance is a safe bet to expect from this Miami DJ. (Saturday, Sector 3, 11:45pm)
4- Afrobeta
Afrobeta will be closing the festival on Sunday at the Sunset@Noon stage. The well loved locals put on a great show, deep house, house, pop and other electronic ingredients blending into a high quality music with a spunky vocalist with a beautiful voice. (Sunday, Sunset@Noon, 11pm)
5- Flying Lotus (DJ set)
One of Sunday night’s main acts, TML is seriously excited to see what is brought to the table. Flying Lotus is one versatile act, with some incredible collaborations in the discography which include Snoop Dogg, Thom Yorke, and Kendrick Lamar. Also notable is the quality of the music videos made for each new single, serious art in their own way. (Sunday, Main Frame, 9pm)
Added Bonus: Holly Hunt.
With all the happy sounding indie, the energetic rock and the amazing electronic acts lined up for this weekend, Holly Hunt stands out for being extremely different. Heavy, slow, powerful and loud are a few words to describe their sound. The Miami based duo usually plays with heavy metal acts, sludge metal parties and tours with some seriously heavy acts around the country. Seeing them on the lineup for III Points was happy news for us, and will add great contrast to the sounds of Sunday. (Sunday, Sector 3, 9pm)
