The Analog Girl shared the single and video “More Than You Know” from her upcoming album Sugar Crystals.
This song, that is pretty much about falling in love, the unexpectedness of it all, and feeling
all vulnerable, has an ultra surreal visual treatment from 3D fashion animator LS528, whose past avant-garde glove line Glovedup Gloves was highly revered by superstar clients including Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Peaches and Lady Gaga.
“I first met Laura (LS528) after my performance at Nick Knightʼs SHOWstudio Revue event in London back in 2007 and we have kept in touch since. Over the past year, I was exceptionally fascinated by the imagery I was seeing Laura put up on her Instagram portfolio – her fashion animations were more than fashion; they carried a sense of mystery, intrigue and pop artfulness. One look and I knew I had to feature them on my music video for More Than You Know, a fantastic fit given that I also wrote that beat with the fashion runway in mind.” Says Mei Wong, The Analog Girl.
A little more about The Analog Girl
What started out as a lo-fi bedroom project using portable synthesizers and cassette tape recorders has since evolved into some kind of dreamlike technicolour pop universe – one in which Singaporean musician The Analog Girl creates and performs using a myriad of illuminating electronic instruments including the Tenori-On, Monome and Percussa AudioCubes. Named by TIME magazine as one of 5 Music Acts To Watch in 2008, The Analog Girl has had audiences worldwide plugged into her sound at a spectrum of venues and festivals including CMJ Music Festival in New York, famed British photographer Nick Knightʼs SHOWstudio in London, Worldtronics Festival at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, the Cirque Electrique in Paris, Superdeluxe in Tokyo and Mosaic Music Weekend at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in Singapore. The Analog Girl has also supported a number of international acts including Telepathe, The Whitest Boy Alive and The KVB. Golden Sugar Crystals is The Analog Girlʼs newest album in 5 years, and it is charged with both hope and fragility.
