The Black Market, Miami’s premier underground flea market is celebrating its two year anniversary this weekend with a two-day festival! For two years now, Miami’s most talented artisans, musicians designers, and vendors have gathered to sell and showcase their goods every second Sunday of the month. Housing an array of vendors offering everything from vinyl records, vintage clothes, apparel, handmade jewelry, zines, edibles, plus much more, The Black Market has become a well-known community hub, and veritable destination to find your finds.
This weekend, organizer Panther Cordts, with support from Death to The Sun and Cheap Miami Records (who are also celebrating their 7th anniversary), have set up a two-day mini-festival experience at Las Rosas. Featuring the usual curated market, the hosts have also added a stacked line-up of over 25 bands and performances. This year’s iteration will be the first to be spread out over two days, a testament to the extensive talent Miami has on offer.
Friday night will kick off at 8 PM with sets brought to you by Douse (Philly), Viscaya, Two Cars (Richmond), Butterfly Snapple and Dog Heat among many others. The highly anticipated drag show portion of the evening will feature performances by Yoko Oso, Dang-Ho Yu Sickning and King Femme plus more. MC Shelley Novak keeping things moving.
For Saturday’s event, Ex Isles, Baby FuzZ (Brooklyn), Teen Divorce (Jax) and Other Body are some of the notable acts on the lineup. Of course, more drag performances will also be on offer, featuring Opulence Queen, Karla Croqueta, Kat Wilderness, Persephone Von Lips & MC Yoko Oso as your host. The main event will be a Fashion Show, starting at 11 PM featuring the Designs of Tony Visions, Pumpkin Heart, The Velvet Party, Craft Crime, and Claudia Rubio, with hair styled by Saints and Scissors (who will also have their own booth at the event).
Both nights which are FREE of charge, will run till the venues close at 5 AM. See you there!
