As Miami New Times once said:“Without the Rhythm Foundation, Miami would be a quieter, less vibrant place.” Since 1988 The Rhythm Foundation has been a synonym of music quality and diversity. Featuring concerts and events by artists from all around the world and making music more accessible to the Miami community.
On May 19th The Rhythm Foundation invites all to join their efforts in contributing to the city’s vibrant music culture and together help it grow. This year’s season fundraiser features a unique and bold indie rock performance by New York based pianist Marco Benevento and his band.
With your ticket for the fundraiser you will be contributing to help finance all the free activities and events that are offered at the North Beach Bandshell throughout the year, and you get to enjoy the open bar and hors d’oeuvres from 6-8pm, plus an individual level Rhythm Foundation Membership. DJ Benton will be providing the music for the rest of the evening and there will also be a silent auction. Get your tickets here.
Also, a different kind of celebration is happening at the Miami International Airport, with a photo exhibition at the concourse D. The exhibition will be on display till October. The exhibit features a series of images taken at live shows by the official Rhythm Foundation photographer, Luis Olazabal.
About The Rhythm Foundation
The Rhythm Foundation aims to connect communities with the rich musical cultures of the world. Founded in 1988 in Miami Beach, The Rhythm Foundation is a non-profit organization that increases international awareness through live music. We build and strengthen the diverse communities in South Florida through consistent shared cultural experiences.
Since its inception 30 years ago, the Rhythm Foundation has presented concerts, festivals and events featuring over 800 established and innovative artists from around the world as well as locally-based musicians. Special focus is given to those cultures connecting to South Florida audiences – music from Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. Concerts feature artists who reinvent traditional rhythms, reinvigorate musical genres, and carry history with them in the form of music. Focusing on artistic excellence, we have built and continue to develop a multi-generational, cross-cultural audience.
In 2015, we began year-round management of the City of Miami Beach’s North Beach Bandshell, the MiMo (mid-century modern) oceanfront treasure that anchors the North Beach business district. Dozens of concerts and shows per year are showcased here., many of them free and all ages.
