Thursday, June 6th – Ad Hoc Cinema presents Prince: Sign O’The Times @ Floyd Miami
Weekday film screenings at bars > the wheel. Thursdays can be tricky, what with the creeping excitement of the weekend, yet the nagging reality that it is not. Thus the genius invention of film screenings at your local haunt. A cocktail with the guise of culture. Tonight at 8 pm over at Floyd Miami, Ad Hoc Cinema presents Prince: Sign O’The Times (a screening of his famed 1987 concert film). Just in time for Prince’s Bday (June 7th), the screening (which begins at 9 pm) will be followed by a celebration of all things Prince. The night features specialty drinks and a BYOPrince DJ sign-up hosted by Vinyl Social Club MIA. This will be open to all who want to share their favorite Prince cuts. The event is free of charge with an rsvp.
Friday, June 7th – Versus: All or Nothing @ The Ground
Presented by the ever-ascending collective Internet Friends, another intense DJ battle in going down over at The Ground this Friday. Featuring a plethora of Miami’s most prolific and popular DJ’s ( and NYC’s GIA) head to this event if you like anything from bounce/jungle to techno. Or if you want to burn 1000 Calories dancing until 6 am. As the case tends to be with Internet friends’ events, it is inclusive as possible. The event will be 18+ until 1 am, at which point you will need to be 21+ with an ID to enter. The night includes the following battles: GIA (NYC) VS GAMI, Sally Hunter VS Keanu Orange, DJane VS Pam Jones and Eveava VS Ms. Mada. Tickets are currently available via Eventbrite for $10. Friday, June 7th – Debbie Deb “Everybody’s Jammin'” Release Party + Gemini Jam @ Sweat Records
In a collaboration between Sweat Records Records, Schematic, & Pandisc the previously unreleased freestyle masterpiece “Everybody’s Jammin” by 80’s queen Debbie Deb will be released this Friday. In celebration, Sweat Records will be hosting a record release party featuring vinyl DJ sets by Arthur Baker, Romulo, and Phaxas. Food and drink will also be available at this all ages, no cover event. Produced by Pretty Tony Butler, the release is described as having “golden era production”. It was transferred from tape by Andrew “DJ Le Spam” Yeomanson at City of Progress Studio and mastered by Mike Fuller. The 12″ will be available for purchase on the night. Check it out!
Weekender, June 7th/8th/9th – Las Rosas 2 Year Anniversary Weekend Festival
Local Miami favorite Las Rosas will be celebrating its two year anniversary this weekend with a three-day music festival. From Friday – Saturday the venue/bar has a packed itinerary of vendors, performers, and bands that rivals last years blow out party. Check out our full rundown of each day here. The festivities begin on Friday at 9 pm.
Friday, June 8th – El Vinyl at Life House Hotel (Little Havana)
The third edition of El Vinyl is back at Life House Hotel this Saturday, June 8th. The free monthly tropical party is brought to you in collaboration with Vinyl Social Club. The event will run from 7 pm-10pm. Featuring vinyl selection from The Americas, the Caribean and beyond, head here if you’re in the mood for a soulful Saturday.
Sunday, June 9th – Algorithm presents “Pickle Forever” @ The Electric Pickle
As the legendary Miami venue, The Electric Pickle gets ready to close its doors for good, there’s a lot of “last’s” going down. This Saturday marks the final ever techno party “Algorithm”. Starting at 9 pm and going into the early hours, this will be your last opportunity to catch the techno showcase. The line-up includes Carlo Vento B2B Complex Solution, Delta Echo, Denzo, Le Brion B2B Michael Nighte, and NOMADsignal. Ladies can get in free before 1 am, and dudes can do the same before 11 pm. After 1 am, entrance to the party will be $20, which you can pre-purchase now via Eventbrite.
