It is not every day that we get the pleasure of introducing a promising and interesting artist. Say hello to mezzo-soprano Naomi Jane, born and raised in New York. She is ready to shake your world using her uniqueness. Often compared to legends such as Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, and Joni Mitchell, everyone already has their eyes and ears fixed on her.
"Why Not" is Naomi Jane’s most recent single and let me tell you, it's quite something. She shows her mezzo-soprano training with a vocal range like no other. Naomi is highly recognized for her songwriting, gaining the title of the "piano poet." Her mind-blowing prose is perfectly showcased within the song, with lyrics that get to the deepest corners of the soul "Bitter and broken / Still we get up and find our / Way back into love". Her writing and lyrics are so vivid it is easy to get into the scenarios she describes. Beside her voice, the sweet piano melody is very comforting, like the warm embrace. The sounds contained here are truly magical and mesmerizing. The combination of her lyrics and music is incredibly powerful and leaves you with a sense of awe and an appreciation for her talent. It is an unforgettable journey that will leave you wanting more.
“‘Why Not’ is about a “perfect” love that is just “too good” to be true outside of the movies. An ideal or almost stereotypical love. Ever since I was little, my favorite movies of all time are rom-coms! They made me fall in love with love. This song tells the story of how girls (like me) still look for rom-com romance in real life even if it is impossible."
Naomi's bicoastal upbringing has enriched her with a wide range of experiences. It was in New York City that she spent her formative years, in Greenwich, Connecticut where she spent the rest of her life, and she is now a resident of Santa Barbara, California. Naomi's career began at a very young age. Her roots can be traced back to theater productions and various off-Broadway musical theaters. Naomi made a strong impact in several New York venues as the featured vocalist, such as Feinstein’s 54 / Below, Green Room 42, and Players Club NYC, to name a few. Beyond the stage, Naomi is also a talented TV actress. She made her debut on “Monkey Music" on PBS Kids, after which she gave breathtaking performances in the award-winning series “Assisted Living” and the silver screen production “A Night with the Sheintops.”
Naomi's interests span a range of activities and causes, from her artistic passions to spending quality time with friends, creating TikTok content, playing softball, writing poetry, engaging in antics, and cherishing moments with her beloved pets. She is strongly committed to making a positive impact on important issues such as stopping gun violence, eradicating hunger, and safeguarding the well-being of children through active advocacy and activism.
Naomi is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and is always eager to share her thoughts and stories. She is also committed to educating others on the importance of these issues and advocating for meaningful change. Follow her to stay up to date on her latest projects and initiatives.
