Talk Time just released their debut EP, “Year of Self” with five tropical indie-funk tracks to hold you over until summer. Join them at the Bootleg on April 16th to celebrate the release!
Co-produced by Math Bishop (Two-Door Cinema Club, Silversun Pickups, The Killers) and the Talk Time boys, each song has the washed out sounds of Harry Styles’ latest record over a well-crafted lush soundscape. High toned electric guitars picking alongside synths bring an indie, coastal vibe to the mainstream market. The project shines a light on their pop sensibilities while remaining laid back and experimental.
Colorful melodies and eclectic rhythms define the entire EP, titled “Year of Self” as an ode to Galileo. Talk Time calls the title track, ‘Year of Self,’ a “celebration/mantra for the unique thinkers with courage to live outside the box.” Their latest single off the project, ‘Colors’, relates to that theme and becomes a sort of anthem aimed at encouraging your truest self to come to the surface. And with the amount of ear worms scattered throughout the EP, you might just heed their advice.
“Don’t you think too hard, we might make it out of this…” — Talk Time, ‘Colors’
