‘Alyssa’ and the JTM Love Triangle

JTM is a Utah rapper whose records combine progressive production, pop sounds, and relentless positivity. Has just released 'Alyssa' featuring BabyJake, a song that describes what happens around a love triangle and that almost anyone could relate to.

The track begins with a soft melody, quite romantic, or perhaps the word is sad. “If you're thinking of your ex just know - that my feelings - they've been building like a red brick road”, says the pre-chorus, to reaffirm that moment in which we realized we have been investing into someone who wasn't able to invest back into us. Baby Jake's raspy voice sets a turning point in the song. The video is quite simple. It includes an already frequent red character named Ozzy, a mannequin that functions as Alyssa, a car, and a microphone with which JTM sings the lyrics of the song.

James Brandt Curran was born on August 19, 1986. He is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer, more commonly known by his stage name JTM, formerly James the Mormon. Although he doesn't make religious music, he self-identifies as a religious person. JTM is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

JTM started posting videos on his YouTube channel in 2014, attracting much attention from his religious community. He then released I'm Not a Rapper, anticipating that rapping would just be a hobby for him, but suddenly the track reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. On May 2, 2018, JTM released his first full-length LP under the name We Came to Play. The LP reached No. 7 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and JTM donated 50% of the proceeds from the album's pre-order sales, to Operation Underground Railroad, a charity dedicated to rescuing children from sex trafficking. He describes his music as Real Life, Hi-Fi, and Organic. And judging by the content and musical load of this theme, we can certify it.
