Indie artist Ava Breeze as the young artist dives into writing and producing her new singles, "Who Are You" and "Cotton Candy Skies" available now on all streaming platforms. Always inspiring, always exciting -Young, hardworking talent on the rise remains an ever-fresh source of music and interesting perspectives, such is the case with Indie Performer Ava breeze, whose new singles "Wo Are you" and "Cotton Candy Skies" have already hit streaming platforms. Ava isn't just a musician but also an actress who we will get to see develop in the role of Judith Reardon in a streaming comedy series called "Irreverend" soon to be premiered. Aside from music and acting, Ava has modeled for brands like Neiman Marcus and Chick NYC and is heavily involved in charity and activism. Working through the National "Feeding America" campaign as well as acting as an advocate for children with special needs, with her anti-bullying campaign “Avas Advocacy Army,” in honor of her sister (@lyra_smiles) who was bullied extensively due to her rare disease, DHX-30. How do you see yourself right now? Who is Ava Breeze with respect to her work? I feel I am more confident with self-expression. I used to worry about what other people would think. Now I hope people like it, but it’s truly about creating the sound. I am no longer afraid to experiment and can truly enjoy the process from start to finish. Your two latest tracks, "Who Are you" and "Cotton Candy Skies" are both very different. How do you think they fit together with the rest of your work? Do you feel like you're experimenting with different things or that It should be a constant for you to always have a great deal of variety in approach rather than any specific sound? I feel like my music is all about means of creative expression. I am constantly growing and experiencing different things in my life as are we all. I love to be authentic and create a sound in correspondence to what I am feeling. If that is a love song then it will be more dreamy, if it’s a song about the fundamental questions we are afraid to ask it is going to feel darker and read differently. I don’t want to be known for only one sound, I want to be known for maintaining the feeling and message each of my songs brings. With that said, I have a feeling it is going to be likely I cross more genres of music in the future.
Your musical career began in full in 2020, right? Looking at where you're at, roughly two years later, how do you feel about your evolution? It began in 2021. I just celebrated the one-year anniversary of the first song I released. If I told myself that one year later I would almost have an entire album complete and that I’m on Spotify, I wouldn’t have believed it. I feel like I have grown so much and learned what the production side of music is. As I continue to learn more and how to manipulate instruments and sounds, I am really excited to see what my future in music holds. In that time, what are some valuable lessons that you've learned or insights that you've gained? Ive learned that music is big with trial and error. You have to be very flexible with sounds and you can’t let yourself be stubborn and stuck on an idea that isn’t working. I’ve learned that taking time off of a piece, experiencing more life, then coming back to it can create the best music. I have learned different effects you can add to the voice without auto-tune like reverb etc. And how to create a song that is better structured all around.
You're obviously very motivated and seem to stay busy at all times. How do you balance your artistic pursuits and your other interests? do you set time apart for each thing you want to do or does it just come and go for you? I feel like I set time apart for each of my interests. There is never enough time in the day for me to fit everything all the time. Sometimes I go weeks without seeing my friends and sometimes I go a week or two without a new song idea or am faced with a halt in production. My day to day however is pretty structured with homeschooling so I can get ahead and graduate early. After I finish my classes for the day I try to take a break, make a nice meal, workout at the gym, take my private acting class and write more lyrics. You've been working on the Streaming series "Irreverend" for a while now, right? Its premiere's still ways to go, but how's the experience been so far? Irreverend has definitely been a wild ride. I talked to the production team recently and the release date will definitely be before the end of 2022. I have put in months of my time into this series so I am beyond excited to see how the finished product looks. I would say my acting has improved since then, but I think it will be cool to see how much I have grown and how everyone’s characters blend together. Some of the scenes are ridiculously funny so it was hard to keep a straight face, I’m excited to see those scenes completed. The cast and crew were lovely to work with so I’d say overall it was a great experience. You've got a lot going on in terms of activism. Tell us a bit about your involvement with "Feeding America" and your anti-bullying campaign/org. Being the face of child hunger for feeding america is an honor. I still get messages when people find my buildboard somewhere across the country or see the campaign on tv. I got this role as an actress, but I truly believe in the cause. I also started an organization called Ava’s Advocacy army. I started it because everyone deserves to be included even if you have special needs. So many people don’t know how to interact with special needs children and since I have a special needs sister, I have seen that it isn’t intentional bullying it’s just lack of knowledge. My goal with Ava’s Advocacy army is to educate others on how to play with special needs children and treat them like any other person. What's next for you? what are you working on right now? Right now I am working on a couple of new songs. Again with the dichotomy of one song being deeper than the others but I am excited to see how the finished product will sound. I am also in the process of trying to move to Los Angeles. Every trip I take, I see my opportunities multiply and my family has come to the conclusion that my career will be better suited there. With the possibility of moving and frequent auditions, my summer is jam-packed.
