Well-known Nigerian rapper Akumefule Chukwu-Emeka, known professionally as Blaqbonez has made a name for himself through his original approach to rap mixed with his creative flair. One of the most notable aspects of Blaqbonez’s persona is his controversial self-proclaimed title as the "Best Rapper in Africa" (BRIA). Born in Lagos, Nigeria on January 29, 1996, Emeka was raised in the Igbo culture. The Igbo tribe dominates Imo state in south-eastern Nigeria, where Blaqbonez hails from. He grew up with his mother, a pastor. After completing his tertiary education at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), he began working as a trainer for computer engineers. It was by chance that he discovered he could rap at the age of 13 and his journey into music began. Blaqbonez released his debut album titled "Sex Over Love," using his unorthodox approach and humorous personality the album was met with great buzz and reception. The younger generation, in particular, are attracted to his unapologetic sound. Thanks to this he has become an icon among the youth. Blaqbonez’s talent was also acknowledged by industry giants such as Wizkid and Burna Boy, further solidifying his status as an influential figure in the scene.
