This declaration sparked intense debates within the Nigerian hip-hop community, making it the hottest topic of discussion at the time.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria on January 29, 1996, Emeka was raised in the Igbo culture. The Igbo tribe dominates Imo state in south-eastern Nigeria, where Blaqbonez hails from. While listening to the radio with his cousin, a rapper's song caught his attention and then it clicked. He made up his own lyrics and a few minutes later, he had enough bars for a verse, and that was where it all began.
In an interview, he explained that his title as "Best Rapper in Africa" is a wake-up call for other rappers in Nigeria. Described as "carrying the torch of Nigerian rap" he was named West African Rapper Of The Year at the inaugural Creative-Africa Hip Hop Awards. Blaqbonez released his debut album titled "Sex Over Love," using his unorthodox approach and humorous personality the album was met with great buzz and reception.
