“So, I’m going where the river flows…” That’s what singer-songwriter, Nate Amor said in his newest song, “Wash You Away,” with his strong, powerful, and husky -hard to resist - classy voice.
According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, to WASH AWAY has two meanings, the first one is to carry something away by the movement of water, and the second one is to get rid of something (such as unhappy or unpleasant thoughts) completely. Water is an essential part of life, we can find that 71% of the planet Earth is covered by it and our body is composed of 70% water, but above all, WATER is the personification of healing and suffering, protection and vulnerability, change and constancy, stillness, and rage. Water in all its glory is considered a purifier of the soul.
“Wash You Away” is full of Nate’s own unique sound with odes to some of his favorite artists such as Kings of Leon, Ray Lamontagne, and Chris Stapleton. One of the most likable features of this amazing performer is the sincerity and rawness he puts into his lyrics. Anyone can relate to what he writes. We've all been there and eventually, we will continue to go through it. That's just the way love is.
“...Although we said forever / And it’s the end of the road / That it was worth every second / All the diamonds and gold…” He stated in his song. For sure, recognizing the termination of a relationship is never easy. Understanding that there is no pain-free way to break up is hard to deal with. By saying this, beyond any doubt, Nate bares his kind and compassionate nature with his animated and gravelly tone in an invigorating -so balanced- way which can lead us into a previous special time connection with our significant other acknowledging that all happens for a reason, no matter if we understand it or not at the time.
Musically, Wash You Away is an indie soothing pop melody full of relaxing tempo beats. The single is calm with a soft as well as raw voice, which takes us back to all those memories in which we gave ourselves body and soul, with this sparkling fusion of serenity and hope that only with a subtle touch like Amor’s we can bond to this feeling of liberation and relief by left things behind.
If we talk about passion, we could say that Nate's passion for Elvis Presley and the Beach Boys began at a young age and only grew stronger as he got older. The first time he ever took the stage was in high school, where he performed his rendition of "In the Ghetto" by Elvis at a talent show. This experience ignited his love for rock and Americana music, specifically the songwriting and storytelling aspect. Nate was drawn to the power that lyrics hold, recognizing their ability to positively impact others and create transformative experiences. From that moment on, Nate dedicated himself to honing his own songwriting skills and using them as a force for good in the world. This passion was even fueled by landing an appearance on NBC’s The Voice. He has also shared the stage with Train, Mat Kearney, and Marc Cohn. He is also a vocalist and member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
What is really authentic about Amor is his unquestionable talent, his magnetic aura on stage, and his ample experience inside and outside the industry which continues to inspire his work. He often offers a more realistic look in his lyrics inspired by his own recent hardships with his relationships with others, sobriety, and himself, eventually reaching a point in which the music and songs become a part of him, allowing him to share his experiences with fear, pain, and doubt.
In 2022, Nate relocated to Los Angeles and began writing an album under the moniker Nate Amor titled “Keep Dreaming.” This fresh perspective is what drives his debut album. It was written and recorded in three different cities, Nashville, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles. The esteemed mixers Joe Zook and Drew Middleton collaborated with the writer throughout the process, resulting in a high-quality production. The album offers a trail into his experience dealing with feelings of refusal, aching, and eventual healing and harmony. The production of “Keep Dreaming” also offered Amor knowledge about his own abilities, and how a team can highlight the most perfect version of his own artistic vision.
So, Hurry up and try the AMOR EXPERIENCE right away, taking into account that only by washing away, we will be finally good with the fact of being in our own skin, on our own.
