Don't let November go without knowing GRIPPA
For 16-year-old pop visionary GRIPPA, the month of November is like the phantom pain of missing someone she once thought important and perhaps even integral. So often we part ways with people, only to later find ourselves fighting back regret and estrangement when we realize that we miss them even if we thought we wouldn't.
" The month of November is something that reminds me of someone personally and I wanted the echo of the song to emulate the haunting and lingering feeling of missing someone. While this is more of a serious, emotional song that only means that there’s more fun to come. " -GRIPPA The song comes with an incredibly romantic yet gloomy music video full of warm yet faded colors evocative of old sepia photographs or hazy dream-like memories. It was directed by Jessica Iliana and it's brought together full circle by the hand of Editor & colorist Jonathan Cocco.
GRIPPA's music comes from the hectic nature of youth set to the even wilder chaos and ever-present informational hellscape of modernity, where external confusion piles on the one coming from within at a critical time. Her incisive vocal performance does cut through all the doom and gloom, and her lyrical bent balances out her own melancholic outlook with a bit of that hopeful certainty that moving on is absolutely possible with the right tools.
Her ember hair burns like autumn leaves You are fading from me Cold nights feel so empty November reminds me of you
With a bit of wisdom beyond her years as a tincture for her lyrics, GRIPPA's smokey and smooth Mezzo range is like a great charm cast on your ears. Her voice is almost archetypal and referential, but at the same time it doesn't feel like you'll ever have enough of it. aWhat's more, the cozy embrace of her warm voice does feel perfectly tuned to the season, almost as if she was always meant to write a song called "November". Though 2022 is coming to a close, it's also the year where this talented young creative is fully launching her career,"November" itself is only the 3rd single released by the budding artist “Beans,” her first release, is a story of pushing forward through heartbreak and a lesson on how to escape from the purgatory of unrequited love.
