GRIPPA Is Debuting With Her Dazzling New Ep “IS THAT HER?”

The story behind "BEANS'' is a lesson in overcoming heartbreak and escaping the nightmare of unreturned love. The EP starts off strong, showcasing GRIPPA's amazing vocal range. Following up with "October Nights", starts with a calm acoustic guitar, again GRIPPA's voice is just enthralling. Shortly after we hear a sonic explosion. The sonic explosion is followed by a powerful chorus that grabs the listener and won't let them go. Next, we have "November". Things slow down a bit. The same acoustic guitar is accompanied by a soothing rhythm, making an excellent middle point on the EP. "Hell", we pass the storm's eye, and GRIPPA's just letting herself loose, with heartbreaking lyrics she delivers what I consider the best song of the EP. Similar to a roller coaster ride that starts with a climactic peak, slows down, and becomes calming in the middle. It then builds up to an even higher climax at the end. "Fish" is a more playful take, with a fun and upbeat vibe throughout. The guitar is still present, but this time it's accompanied by a more upbeat rhythm. GRIPPA's vocals are again beautiful, as she sings with optimism. "Crash" is the last song, closing with an almost bittersweet sound. "Crash" is a great way to end the album, with a gentle reminder of the emotional journey it took us on. It's the perfect ending to a unique and enjoyable musical experience.
“CRASH is the conclusion of my six-song EP Is That Her?, Each song representing a different stage of a breakup. As the final song, CRASH relays how a relationship can go from “completely over” to “starting again”. The song is a mix of sadness and happiness because it talks about a relationship being imperfect and yet inevitable. IS THAT HER? Is my first EP and it was a very big step because I’d never done this before. It was produced and co-written with the amazing artist/producer YX and the EP does a great job of capturing and expressing a difficult time in my life.” - GRIPPA
