Out for a Drive? Bring Jacque Ryal Along

Ahh... New weekend, new EP to kick back to and enjoy! This time, it's going to be just perfect if you got a little exceptional road trip planned and need something to help you roll down your windows and sing at the top of your lungs, and it's all thanks to Jacque Ryal and her exceptional three-piece release: "Songs For Driving."

Based out of New York, Indie-Pop Singer-songwriter and Producer Jacque Ryal will come as a familiar name to those who jammed to her indie band 'Strip Darling' or -most notably- her electro-synth duo with Aaron Nevezie as 'RYAL'. Stepping deeper into her role as producer, Jacque is now in charge of her own solo music project, which features vocal processing, dancy bass, and beats.

Regarding this move, Jacque says: “In 2020 I grew restless, and I wanted to level up my skills and take the onus of a creative project top to bottom I was watching all these incredible female producers take the lead, and I felt inspired to follow suit. While my synth band RYAL still is and will remain a band, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and do what scares me most–be on my own and 100% self-reliant."

This self-produced EP gives you a condensed high-dopamine rush that can and ought to be included in any playlist you got going on right now, especially if that playlist is set to accompany you on your drives. The opening track, 'Accelerate' kicks up with an enthralling beat that gives you no quarter until the track blooms into the full glory of a chic synth-pop song about taking control of your life and plowing forward with the goal of finding yourself as you always wanted. Now, If you thought that the beat in 'Accelerate' was tight, wait until you hear 'Unbuckle' and its fierce bassy glory and synth-heavy backing, this song is Ryal's own favorite of the trio and it's not hard to see why.

As for the final song, 'Take to the Sky' feels like a slightly more introspective piece at first, delicate and experimental with a fitting tendency to uplift your mood, making it my personal favorite and the song I like to drive to the most out of this fantastic EP.
