Anna presents her new single/video "Something To Lose". As writer and producer, she delivers an infectious bossa nova track set to a graceful, yet haunting vocal performance.
"Something To Lose" is an incredible creative track, both sonically and visually. The song starts off with a soft rhythm, quickly delivering Anna's enthralling voice. The song builds up to a powerful chorus and is accompanied by an almost hypnotic guitar. The chorus is captivating, with an earworm melody that captures the emotion of the lyrics. This makes it a memorable track that's sure to linger in one's mind.
The video brings the emotions of the song to life, showing the struggles of a relationship and the choices that come with it. With a strong theatrical vibe, everything feels classical. The visuals of the video help to emphasize the message of the song, making it even more powerful. Every detail of the video is carefully curated to add to the overall aesthetic of the song, creating an unforgettable experience. The video has a vintage feel, with the costumes and props giving the viewer a sense of being transported back in time. The soft colors and muted tones used throughout the video also contribute to this feeling, creating a beautiful visual landscape.
"In the course of the last year, I’ve been releasing singles, each paired with a music video, telling the story of things I’ve gone through over the last few years that led me to where I am. In all the visuals, I’m stuck in a dream-like state, and they kind of show you what the inside of my mind looks like throughout the course of those experiences. The end of one culminates the start of the next. And the “Something to Lose” music video is the final visual of these singles. It signifies the beginning of a romantic relationship. In contrast to the unsettling, odd, and nightmare-ish tone set by the first three videos, here, we’re getting to know an opposite feeling. Warmth, love, safety, and comfort. The “honeymoon” phase of a relationship, where we’re blind to reality, flaws, and red flags. As the song progresses, me and the male lead are moved around by the dancers to get us to really see each other for who we are. The more I try to avoid them and leave, the more we’re pushed to face it. And in the end, the illusion starts to break, one by one everyone disappears, and I’m left alone again. The same way the first visual started." - Anna Margo
The single is out now, so check it out on Spotify or enjoy the stunning and marvelous video on YouTube. There is much more to come from this intriguing, new artist, so be sure to tune in soon.
