Musical nomad and cosmic traveler, Topaz McGarrigle, embarked on a visionary quest within the wild landscapes of his sanctuary, Dripping Springs, TX. From his humble beginnings as a saxophone player in Austin's Sixth Street in fourth grade to his jazz studies at NYU, TOPAZ's life has taken him on a journey filled with raw emotions.
Over the years, Topaz has traversed the world, immersing himself in different cultures and musical traditions. However, he eventually returned to his roots in Austin, where he founded the Golden Dawn Arkestra in 2013. Featuring six critically acclaimed albums, this cosmic and galactic act has gained much-deserved critical acclaim.
After receiving critical acclaim for his music videos "AMSTERDAM" and "NORTHERN STAR," Topaz is finally unveiling the final piece to complete his upcoming solo debut EP – a powerful video titled "The Gift." Each video has presented a seasonal motif with "AMSTERDAM" showcasing a summer landscape, exploring lust and passion meanwhile "NORTHERN STAR" represents winter, the power of love, and the sense of homecoming.

Drawing on influences such as Daft Punk, David Bowie, Chromeo, and Steve Monite, "The Gift" serves as the link to unify everything. This vibrant fusion of synth-pop, French house, Italo disco, and bloghouse has been inspired by his experiences during the pandemic, the most important event was a transformative turn he had with his wife that forever changed their relationship. Using this they learned how to deal with conflict and grow as a couple, many of his lyrical works are a reflection of what they went through. The upcoming EP will be a demonstration of the love Topaz and his wife share for each other, we can see her delivering a great performance alongside his husband in the videos!

Topaz is unveiling his debut solo EP on June 28th. The release coincides with the release of a special video trilogy, "Cosmic Opera," directed by Ben Blanchard.
