VEETCHY - ‘OCEAN’: FOR THAT SPECIAL PERSON
This time Veetchy decided to step into the traditional R&B space and he plans on doing so for the rest of the year, starting with the single 'Ocean' as the introduction for it all.
The singer-songwriter born in Douala, Cameroon, started releasing songs in 2019. And since then, he has performed at venues such as The Viper Room and Adults Only with Breaking Sound.
'Ocean' is his most recent song, and it's about the magnetic power of sexual attraction a person can feel for another and the freedom of letting those feelings come out -in this case- in the form of a sweet and seductive melody.
If we're aiming to translate sound into word, the sensations this song produces is like a cocktail of passion, love, and complicity. It makes you think about the sexual tension generated between two people in the middle of a hot but windy day of summer.
"My single OCEAN is an R&B song with a sexy and sensual vibe to it. I heard the beat on the BeatStars platform and knew I had to write to it. It spoke to me. I want everyone listening to this song to enjoy it as much as I did when making it as it is all about spreading love and positive vibes." - Veetchy
Veetchy grew up listening to artists such as Manu Dibango, Richard Bona, Fally Ipupa, Toto Guillaume, and Brenda Fassi, which influenced his sound, along with Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Usher, and John Legend.
Later, he moved to California to study at College of the Canyons and Cal Poly Pomona, where, when not studying or attending classes, he spent his time in the studio with engineer Darrius. In 2019, Veetchy began releasing his music. Blending elements of Afrobeats, R&B, and pop, Veetchy conveys his feelings through his music.
