Straight from The Windy city at the shores of Lake Michigan, the 8-piece ensemble Attack The Sound has come out with a spectacular new remix to revitalize their hit single "People Make Love" just in time for the season of love. This time, the track takes on new dimensions with the help of fellow Chicagoan flow-poet Joel Q, whose bars add an unexpected -but not unwelcome- edge to the more melodic R&B sound that this particular song so masterfully exemplifies.
"People Make Love" was already sexy as they come, so it makes it an extra-impressive achievement the fact that -with the Help of Joel Q- they managed to turn the heat further up. The original song (released a little over half a year ago) was a hit with audiences all over, and fans of the band encouraged this remix to happen. It arrives just in time for St Valentine's season and it helps the band celebrate a string of hit releases and well-deserved appearances performing in Windy City Live. WGN TV, and even opening for fellow Chicago rapper, Taylor Bennet. The band was formed all the way back in 2009 by Army Veteran David Goulard under the stage name of "Davo Sounds". The charismatic beret-wearing lead singer and songwriter recruited the stunning talent of some of the best musicians that the Chicago Scene had to offer, and they are all probably having the time of their lives. it's very evident that they can easily toy with almost any sound under the sun to create something that is truly theirs. In their musical DNA, laid plainly for all to see is the confluence of all major industry and culture-driving genres powered by Black creativity: R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz... all of these and more are in constant flux at the heart of Attack The Sound's, and it wouldn't be possible to bring all of it together in such an effective and harmonious way if not for the pulchritudinous musicianship that each of these guys brings to the table. The band's line-up is as follows: - Davo Sounds on the Guitar and Lead Vocals -Royce Turner on the Trombone -Netta Sherrell on the Bass Guitar -Viano on lead Guitar and additional vocals -Vante on the Sax/Vocals -Wei playing Trumpet/ Vocals -Niki on the Keys and vocals -Paris J'mal on Drums and -guess what- also vocals. There's something just so very satisfying about larger ensembles like these. The fact that there are so many moving pieces and they're all converging together to make good music happen is already brilliant, but in a world where that's not nearly as common as it used to be, I think it just makes them stand out right away. This is of course the key to their growing success, as they truly present themselves as a breath of fresh air revitalizing the music scene with something that is both traditional and entirely new at the same time.
