Indie Artist Anne Stott Returns with “Love’s the Only High,” an 80s-Infused Rebellion

True to her irreverent, provocative, and boundary-pushing image, indie artist Anne Stott takes over digital platforms with a new single titled Love’s the Only High. Packed with shimmering synths and an unmistakable 80s vibe, the track delivers a crystal-clear message—a rejection of consumerism in favor of genuine love.

The song is part of Stott’s third studio album, Watershed Synapse Experience, a project shaped in collaboration with acclaimed producer Barb Morrison (Deborah Harry, LP, Rufus Wainwright) and two-time Grammy-nominated engineer Jeremy Kinney.

This album marks a bold new chapter in Stott’s ever-evolving artistry. As she describes it, "with bold aural atmospherics that embody narratives ranging from intimate observations to global visions to astral flares."

Anne’s musical journey began with Pennsylvania, an indie folk-rock album, followed by Love Never Dies, a more cinematic and eclectic collection that became her most successful release to date, peaking at #19 on the Relix Magazine Radio Chart and earning praise from Boston Spirit Magazine and other music publications.

In Watershed Synapse Experience, Stott experiments with a fusion of 80s alternative pop and 90s grunge, layering intricate vocal arrangements to create rich sonic textures.

Beyond music, Anne Stott has built a multifaceted career spanning acting, directing, and producing. She also delivered the TED Talk "Getting Lost… To Find Your Creativity" at the inaugural TEDx Provincetown.

On stage, she has captivated audiences with performances in What the Constitution Means to Me, The Lady Hamlet, August: Osage County, and The Importance of Being Earnest. In film, she starred in Crookedfinger, a gripping family thriller that has made waves across U.S. and European film festivals.

With Love’s the Only High, Anne Stott once again proves that she is a fearless storyteller and advocate. Her latest work adds another layer to her unwavering commitment to the queer community and her relentless pursuit of artistic innovation.
