From Germany To The World Ingolf Is Making His Solo Debut With “Exil”
German music producer, songwriter, and singer Ingolf is not a newcomer to the music scene. He has composed and produced music for more than 25 years. Ingolf's music career started in the 80s with the band "Concession", then he toured as a DJ in the former GDR and started the music project "Sgt. Pepper". In this way, he combined both live and canned music. "Sgt. Pepper" was very popular among synth-pop lovers and a smash hit in clubs. This is where everything came to an abrupt halt with the fall of the Berlin Wall. He started his own recording studio and worked with musicians from all over the globe. He then moved completely to producing, at least for a while. Moving forward to the 90's he produced several influential artists under his label and released his first techno collection. In the early 2000's he founded alongside his partner, KID Broadcast. They worked with bands like Rammstein, Deichkind, Knorkator, Richi Hawton, Clueso, Ingolf has a natural talent for getting what his clients need.
Enough with the history lesson, let's talk about what everyone came here for, Ingolf's long-awaited upcoming album "Exil". Influenced by the experience of his breakup with his partner, he uses his feelings and thoughts as a foundation for his songs. Heavily inspired by 80s synth-pop, this album features nine unique tracks. Ingolf's album is sure to take the world by storm and is gonna be the soundtrack to many broken hearts. Listening to Ingolf's album is like taking a roller coaster ride through his emotional journey; it has twists, turns, and highs and lows that mirror his own experience, and at the end, you come out with a greater understanding and appreciation for his artistry.
While the album is synth-pop first and foremost, Ingolf isn't afraid of heavy guitar riffs. "Wonderful Life", the first song on the album, is proof of this. The highlight of the album is definitely "Without Words", while not the first one it's the starting point for "Exil", describing what Ingolf felt during his breakup. "Crossroads" is a beautiful melodic ballad followed by a more aggressive sound with "Friendly Fire". It is difficult not to compare Ingolf's sound to Depeche Mode. However, I don't really think that's something negative, after all, DM is one of the (if not) most influential synth-pop bands out there.
"Exil" is a great example of the modern synth-pop sound, with catchy melodies and great-sounding production. It is no surprise that Ingolf has become one of the most sought-after producers in recent years. He has created an album that will be enjoyed for years to come. The album was accomplished with the help of musicians with whom he had been friends for a long time. English guitarist and producer, Greg Bone, Hans Christian, German cellist and multi-instrumentalist, Darin Mooney on the drums, Joe Dworniak and Ulrich Heidel on the piano with Christina Rotenberg providing backup vocals.
"MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE. In this day and age, music is often used as a disposable item. Life and stories don't fit into 2:30 min songs. An album takes many months of work and artists don't give away all their feelings and emotions to put them on a skip button. With my music, I hope to make the listener stop and enjoy the music and slow down from the madness of our time. When I have made this connection with my audience I am satisfied and happy. " - Ingolf
Synth-pop fans and those looking for amazing music should definitely check out "Exil", now available on Spotify. Stay tuned! Until next time.
