Have you ever heard anything about Goddess’s Pop? Well, if you haven’t maybe it’s time for you to give it a try, and we can go further by suggesting you do it through Nikitaa’s music.
Born and raised in Mumbai but currently Based in L.A. NIkitaa has just released ‘On my own’, an ode to love and loneliness set to a lively melody and a very catchy rhythm. 'On my Own' Is about aching and longing to experience all those wonderful things you want with that special person but having it all just out of reach.
"Every person has a Goddess power within them that honors the feminine within and without. I hope to remind people of this and uplift and empower them with my music, giving them space to express all their feelings no matter what it is they feel. Goddess Pop is a genre where I get to be everything I want to be—an expansive being with a genre-melding sound".
The track is a brilliant encapsulation Nikitaa's concept of 'Goddess’s Pop' because of the richness of its sound and the connection it generates with those who listen to it. It is the Divine feminine calling out to the universe for worthy companionship.
Nikitaa is coming off many successful songs, like her first single Honest released in 2018. After that, she amazed the world with Exodus, Farewell, and perhaps, most importantly, “Goddess” which was written as a sort of official introduction to her entire ethos, and what she truly represents as an artist. With this, she proved her success was not a stroke of luck.
What she is doing with her music is also very genuine, since she is creating her own blend between ethereal pop and R&B, mixed with Indian instrumentation and culture. With smart lyrics based on her personal experiences and a nuanced sense of spirituality, Nikitaa is building her own musical niche with a truly unique sound.
Somehow, music was always the way for her. At just 4 years old she started taking piano lessons and training in Indian Classical. By the age of 10, she decided to be a musician, so in high school, she convinced her parents to let her move to LA to study and get that journey started. Artists such as Beyonce, A.R. Rehman, Frank Ocean, and Banks inspire her and make her dream of putting on productions such as a large theatre-level live show.
