Rain or shine this June will be a colorful month. Although sometimes it feels that we are swimming against the tides here in Florida, one thing is for sure, we do know how to celebrate equality. Creating this listing was a bit tough since there are so many wonderful things happening around town this month, but we have shortlisted some of our favorite ones to make your life somehow easier. From witchy, mystic parties, to storytelling competitions, and pool parties, Pride Month in Miami has it all.

If you are looking for the right coven to celebrate pride with look no further! JINX is a queer, latinx & indigenous femme-fronted party that caters to the witchy, mystic and astrology-oriented crowd in Miami. For this month’s edition at Mama Tried they summon you to channel your Queer Icon (whomever that is for you) and join them for a night of dance, fun and liberation. Early birds drink free so make sure to arrive from 9-11 to enjoy complimentary cocktails. DJs Mr. Bitch & Dj Bozito will spice up the night and there will be Photography by Vanessa Coy.

The Moth Slam: Pride

The art of storytelling and spoken word has been for centuries a way to share information, preserve traditions, and provide entertainment, and the Moth StorySLAM celebrates that tradition. Being a community-focused, open-mic storytelling competition in which anyone can share a five-minute story on the night’s theme, The MOTH hosts live storytelling events in cities around the world, and this month’s theme is PRIDE. The event will be hosted at the beautiful Sandrell Rivers Theater on June 8th. The organizers encourage you to “Prepare a five minute story about being proud. The confidence and glory of owning your talents, embracing your identity or, perhaps, flying too close to the sun.”

Vizcaya Late: Pride Edition

We can all agree that VIzcaya is one of the most magical places in Miami, their labyrinthine gardens and iconic interiors make it the perfect place for a party after sundown. Once a month Vizcaya offers the community a chance to enjoy the estate during extended evening hours, and this month they are throwing a Pride Parade through the gardens, led by a New Orleans-style second line band. Local musicians from the French Horn Collective will also perform live on the East Terrace. Make sure to wear your best Pride Parade outfit and comfy shoes.

Femme Prom at Freehold Miami

Another noteworthy event brought to you by Witches of Miami, Femme Prom returns to Freehold Miami on June 23rd. With music by DJs Aileen, Bozito, and headliner Rio Bamba from NYC, the night will also showcase performances by Alice Dee. Make sure to dress for the occasion since the event will be captured by photographer Vanessa Coy. In this case you will be parting with an extra purpose since the organizers will be collecting donations for a non profit organization that will be announced soon. This year Wynwood Pride turns 5 and rightfully so they will be celebrating all month long. One of the highlights of their programming is their Daytime Rendezvous and Pool party at the brand new Arlo Wynwood rooftop.Combining the best Miami Drag and DJ’s this promises to be an epic Pride Month kickoff. Tickets are divided into 2, General admission and VIP Pool party, so you can choose your own adventure.
