The DJ and all-around creative force of nature is also the founder of Masisi, a Miami-based, Black and queer-centered party and production studio which recently won a Monkey Shoulder artist grant. Dorsainvil joins TML in the studio to share how they plan to use the grant to expand Masisi’s reach.
We also chat with Miami New Times associate editor Jose Duran about his favorite pop culture topic: Charli XCX. Duran breaks down Charli’s decade-long road to main pop-girl status, as well as brat’s unexpected role in the 2024 presidential election. Our resident Charli XCXpert also shares two tracks that influenced the album: Sophie’s “BIPP” and Charli XCX’s “enemy.”
