The Haunted Youth is the band of Belgium-based musician Joachim Liebens, who makes mesmerizing psych-pop reminiscent of MGMT, DIIV, Slowdive or, we dare even say, The Cure. Most of his songs are about despair, hope, and the feeling of being a misunderstood misfit, coated in a rich and dreamy, multilayered sound that will sweep you off your feet. The band gained recognition here in the US in 2021 with their debut single "Teen Rebel" released via May Way records, obtaining reviews and features on many mainstream outlets and radio stations. After releasing a handful of singles that helped solidify THY sound, they are back with a new release. "Broken", is the band's most recent single. It features pulsing post-punk guitars, soft whispered-like vocals, and electro-indie textures, following Lieben's recurring topics lyric-wise.
