Burlington VT indie-folk-rock artist Lily Seabird releases the final single off her upcoming sophomore LP, Alas,. Due out on Friday, January 12, Seabird's new record displays her complete mastery of song-craft, seamlessly traveling between moments of whispered indie-folk and gritty alt-country, with hints of shoegaze acting as a vignette around the edges. Her new track "Waste" is a masterclass in tension. Opening with a somber melody reminiscent of '90s slowcore acts, Seabird's vocals on the track are breathless and aching at the same time, at times bordering on exasperation as repetitive guitars cascade around her — meticulously upping the ante until you, and her, are bursting at the seams. It additionally comes alongside an accompanying lyric video. In addition to her forthcoming record, Lily Seabird has also announced a series of live dates to take place this winter, including her LP release show at her local Light Club Lamp Shop, on Friday January 12, in addition to tour dates up and down the East Coast in February.
