Emily Brooks: now “Back On The Ground”

After a brief hiatus in 2021, L.A-based Singer and songwriter Emily Brooks is back in the saddle with a kick-ass rock & roll single inspired and patterned after the alt-rock wave of the 90s. “Back on The Ground,” is an anthem that lingers on the brink of insanity and walks the line of the soul.

“Back On the Ground” is an alt-rock banger structured around the thrilling reverb of Emily’s vocal performance. Her powerful and strange balance between sensuality and melancholy instantly set her music apart and aglow. The Music video directed by Dave Lang features Emily and the city of Los Angeles as both backdrop and side character, alternating between warm amber and cold blue color palettes that illustrate the Bittersweetness of her songwriting.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Emily Brooks grew up a poetess and a singer from a very young age, however her first love of the performance arts would come through her experiences in theater, standing out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland at the age of sixteen and then going on to perform in theatre productions and film sets all over the United States, receiving a BA in Theatre Performance before discovering her songwriting abilities.

Today, Emily brooks is “Back on The Ground” and writing and singing her own anthems described as “Chicken Soup For the Soul”. This latest single is an ode to the Rock and Roll revival that’s led by amazing female singers and songwriters all over the U.S.
