Jakke is the next step in the creative evolution of LA artist and songwriter, Jake Goble, perhaps better known for his indie-pop rock project, Enjune. Goble has spent the last 2 years carefully cultivating this new identity, with "Burn Me Up" being the third single he's released under this new name ahead of a debut EP set to release by the end of August -you may pre-save this EP already by going here
Of the new identity, Goble confessed: “I realized it was important for me to identify the core musical identity I had become since I started making music legitimately. Enjune will always be a vehicle I release certain records under, but Jakke is the driver of it all. When I work on projects of my own or with others, that’ll always be the name you see.” "When is love not romance, but instead something more dark and carnal?" That is the fuel behind Jakke's newest banger, "Burn Me Up". A song that is a rather successful attempt at manifesting harmony and melody out of the unbridled passion and pure chemistry between bodies.
"Burn Me Up" does away with a little bit of the mystery that a more romantic song would have in favor of a different kind of mystery, namely that of near-animalistic attraction and the warm pull of experiencing sexual -and sensual- bliss. In Jakke's own words, “As humans, we sometimes have these fervid experiences in which we lose ourselves in the moment and melt into another plain of existence immeshed in lust and ecstasy” Now It does bear mentioning that this exploration of lust and ecstasy is very far from crude . Jakke's sound is refined and inspired, blending elements of alt-rock with some clear R&B influence to smooth things out and give a lot of character to the whole composition. Here Jakke uses the piano sparsely but to great effect while punctuating it almost immediately with horn-like synths that truly elevate the temperature of the track.
